I write poems and create artwork.
I often get asked: “Does the poem inform the artwork or the artwork produce the poem?”
Both in all honesty! I get my inspiration from the sea, nature, family life and my feelings.

I've spent many happy hours combing beaches while on holiday, the flotsam and jetsam speaking to me in a way that lends itself to be turned into poetry and artwork.

My grandmother's Singer sewing machine is a treasured possession I still use today. I've followed her lead in combining different materials which have deep personal meaning to me into quilts that can be treasured forever.

On September 29th 2017 all our lives changed forever. My friend lost her beautiful 9yr old daughter Daisy, and my 9yr old daughter Daisy, lost her good friend. Our community had a life stripped from it. This is mirrored in my work.

In 2020 we experienced the rollercoaster of Covid-19, lockdown, self-isolation and shielding and this led me to produce a body of work: Twelve - holding space, which was partly inspired by the old Danish fairy-tale "The Lindworm Prince".
This in turn re-ignited my fascination with the lifecycle of eels, and the mysteries of their travels from the Sargasso Sea to our rivers and back again, prompting the creation of my touring exhibition, Echoes of Eels and a children's book - Eirian the Eel.

My art has been displayed in numerous exhibitions and some of my poetry (as well as Eirian the Eel) is published and available via Amazon. I have participated in radio talk shows and book readings and in 2016 I was the Artist in Residence in St Mary's Church Overton-on-Dee.
Being the resident of the Maker Space in Ty Pawb, Wrexham from April - September 2023 has allowed me the space to work on my first art installation, based on the Wedding Bower of the Lindworm Prince, and has also being the inspiration for my current work-in-progress: Caged.

The next venue to host my art and workshops will be Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre near Dolgellau.

I have been commissioned to create art works and sold non-commissioned items following exhibitions. Please contact me if you would like to purchase any of my work or commission a personal piece.
